Cyberduck Setup

If you want to use an FTP client on your personal computer instead of the C-Panel’s file manager in your Reclaim Hosting account, this is the tutorial for you!

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method for connecting to your Reclaim Hosting Web Server using a tool that supports FTP connections. We’re going to use Cyberduck, an FTP client that been around since 2002 and has both Mac and Windows versions.

  1. Download and install Cyberduck. Launch the application.
  2. Log-in Reclaim Hosting and find in the C-panel under the files section find the  tab.
  3. Create a new FTP account (be sure to generate and save your strong password) and make sure the directory is set to public_html.
  4. After creating the account, find the FTP client configuration

    and find the configuration details
  5. Use the configuration details and your password to open a connection in Cyberduck (change default FTP to FTP-SSL)
  6. After you’ve successfully connected, immediately bookmark the connection for future use! You will now be able to drag and drop folders/files into your server!
